14 Swiss startups selected for the Kickstart acceleration program 2019

 

The Swiss innovation platform Kickstart has selected 48 growth companies from 17 countries to participate in this year's edition. From Switzerland, 14 startups in five verticals made it into the program.

Araneum and Squirro win DXC Technology’s first European fintech competition

Scandit’s barcode technology to replace 15‘000 Hermes devices

 

Last year, the UK's leading logistics company Hermes, deployed 4,000 smartphones loaded with the Scandit-powered application. The latter will now replace and retire 15,000 old barcode scanners with Scandit’s technology.

Sechs Neuzugänge im Technologiefonds-Portfolio

 

Die Startups DEPsys, Rqmicro, ShoeSize.Me, Bcomp, Mpower und Nexxiot haben vom Technologiefonds Darlehensbürgschaften erhalten. Derzeit befinden sich 73 Unternehmen und Startups im Portfolio des Technologiefonds, insgesamt wurde eine Bürgschaftssumme von über 100 Millionen Franken zugesprochen.

Canadian company acquires iKentoo

 

iKentoo, offering iPad-based POS systems has been acquired by the Canadian company Lightspeed POS Inc. The company, which raised a total of CHF6.8 million in 2017 will continue its development to serve its more than 3800 existing customers.

Caressoma represents Switzerland in the US

 

In August, the Zurich based medtech startup Caressoma will represent Switzerland at the Virginia Tech Global Entrepreneur Challenge in the United States to compete for a $25’000 prize money. The startup developed SonIt, an innovative solution to prevent injuries in athletes.
