The START Summiteer Award ceremony was celebrated within the framework of the annual two-day START Summit in St. Gallen. Based on their innovativeness, the jury announced nanoleq as the winner of the award. The startup was rewarded a cash prize of CHF 20’000.

The funding round for the biotech start-up was led by Redalpine Venture Partners. The funding brings resources to advance Versantis’ lead candidate VS-01 to first-in-human study and transform the care of patients with rare and life-threatening liver diseases.

Recent clinical study results of ProteoMediX’ prostate cancer test were presented at the 2017 Annual European Association of Urology Congress. It shows that the implementation of the test in clinical practice has the potential to significantly lower the rate of prostate biopsies which are negative for prostate cancer by more than 50%.

The Zurich based startup Master21 offering the first coding bootcamps in Switzerland has successfully graduated the first full-time cohort. Master21 aims to shape the digital era by equipping individuals with programming skills for creating their own web apps among other things.

The Merck Accelerator offers three months of acceleration, up to 50,000 € in funding and coaching. Seven startups from three continents were selected for the next batch. Among them is Zurich-based Ectica Technologies.
