The >>venture>> competition supports young entrepreneurs on their journey to founding a company of their own. Now, >>venture>> has made some notable changes to its program structures. For one, the category business plan has been cancelled. Instead, founders can submit their business ideas within three new verticals: «Health and Nutrition», «Hardware» as well as «Software and Services». Applicants will have to submit a ten to 20 page document detailing their business idea. Winners will newly be selected after a life pitch session.
However, not only the contest’s structure has changed. >>Venture>> has also doubled its overall prize money to 340’000 Swiss francs. Grand prize winners can now win up to 150’000 Swiss francs instead of the previous 60’000 Swiss francs. In addition, winners will gain lifelong access to the mentor network.
«We’re very proud to introduce a leaner competition where the stakes are higher and the network is stronger than ever. Our goal was to improve the competition by capitalizing on our rich network of experts and advisory board members», says Thomas Knecht, founder of >>venture>>.
The application phase of the 2019 edition will run from January 28 until April 11. The kickoff event will take place at ETH Zurich on January 28 and at EPF Lausanne on February 7 respectively. There attendees will learn more about the new competition format, be able to speak to past winners, mentors and investors. Registration for the kickoff event is free.
