>>Venture>> competition expands its scope

The organizing committee of the >>Venture>> competition has announced new changes for the 2020 edition; the award prize is now CHF510000 and two additional verticals have been launched. Startups may now submit their applications before March 26, 2020.

Co-organized by the ETH Zurich, McKinsey & Company, Knecht Holding, Innosuisse and EPFL, >>venture>> was one of the first established startup competitions in Switzerland. Early this year, >>venture>> had rebuilt its competition by doubling its prize money to CHF 350,000 and introducing three industry verticals under which startups could compete: ‘Health and Nutrition’, ‘Hardware’, and ‘Software and Services’. Because of these changes, the program has seen an unprecedented amount of participation in their 2019 competition. Moreover, for the first time, the program bestowed a cash prize of CHF 150'000 to the grand winner, making it the largest award-prize in Switzerland. For the 2020 edition, >>venture>> has once again upgraded the competition by increasing the award prize to CHF 510’000 in non-dilutive funds and introduced new industry verticals to better reflect the Swiss economic and technological strengths and bring the participants even closer to industry experts. In addition to ‘Health and Nutrition’ and ‘Industrials and Engineering’, the program will also support startups from the fields of ‘Retail and Consumer Services’, ‘ICT (Information and Communication Technology)’ and ‘Finance and Insurance’. The competition is open for application until March 26, 2020. The selected startups will receive mentorship from industry experts, a McKinsey & Company business-consulting package and the chance to win the grand prize of up to CHF 150,000.(Press release/ran)
