Three swiss startups selected for Plug and Play program

Eyeware, Loriot, dacadoo have joined the Plug and Play Japan winter/spring 2021 acceleration program. Japan being one of the leading global innovation players, the program offers startups access to industry players and the opportunity to meet and forge partnerships.

The Plug and Play Accelerator Japan is an innovation platform that acts as a gateway for startups from all over the world into Japan, one of the top leading innovators in the world and home to worlds leading industries. For the Winter/Spring 2021 batch starting December 2020 to March 2021, the selection jury nominated 103 startups in seven existing verticals (IoT, Fintech, Insurtech, Mobility, Brand & Retail, Hardtech & Health, and newly launched vertical, Smart Cities). Additionally, 42 large domestic corporate partner companies will participate in the program.

Three of the selected startups are from Switzerland. Eyeware and Loriot joined the vertical IoT, while Dacadoo joined the vertical Insurtech. Both programs will take place in Tokyo.

Eyeware is developing patent-pending 3D eye-tracking software for depth-sensing cameras, allowing gaze tracking in 3D remotely, using consumer 3D cameras. Eye-tracking enables real-world interactions, capturing user attention, intention, and interest. The technology is applicable in multiple industries, including gaming, robotics, mobile, research, advertising, and more. 

Loriot is a global IoT company providing software for scalable, distributed, resilient operation of LoRaWAN networks and end-to-end applications, offered under a variety of business models. Loriot participates in the program with the goal to meet exploit the program’s network to expand its presence in the Japanese IoT market. 

Dacadoo licenses its Digital Health Engagement Platform, including its Health Score, to Life & Health insurance operators (B2B), supplying Insurtech and health-tech solutions to over 35 of the top 100 Life & Health insurance operators globally. Through its ‘Connect, Score, Engage’ offering, dacadoo supports Life & Health operators to motivate their clients to lead healthier lifestyles through its SaaS-based Digital Health Engagement Platform.

During the batch program, startups will have access to Plug and Play's network to receive mentoring, one-on-one office hours, networking, and extensive lectures from various professionals to accelerate their businesses Plug and Play Japan will connect these selected startups and to their curated corporate partner ecosystem.
