The New Year resolution for startups: New executive members aboard

 

To support their ambitions in 2020 and beyond, three startups have strengthened their management boards: Creoptix appointed Line Stigen Raquet as the new CEO, Bestmile attracted Alvaro Ramis a former VW Daimler Executive to become the Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances and Nexthink welcomed Bernd Leger as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

 

 

Creoptix is developing next-generation bioanalytical instruments based on its proprietary sensor and microfluidics technology. Its WAVEsystem provides exceptionally high sensitivity and resolution to study real-time biological interactions involving small molecules, peptides, membrane proteins, biologics and other molecules even in biofluids like undiluted serum or plasma. To expand the market presence of its WAVEsystems and strengthen its commercial operations in Europe and the US, the startup has appointed Line Stigen Raquet as the new CEO effective January 2020, thereby succeeding Matyas Vegh. Stigen brings a wealth of experience from Mettler Toledo, where she held multiple positions and recently served as Vice President of Business Development Life Sciences. She also brings international experience gained through working at Qiagen for almost a decade, where she successfully built and led the first APAC regional marketing team in Asia. During her career, she worked in the US, China and the UK before moving to Switzerland. Bestmile attracts former Daimler executive The Lausanne based startup Bestmile offering a fleet orchestration platform to plan, manage, and optimize autonomous and human-driven mobility services, also has big plans for the coming year. With the support of Alvaro Ramis, its new Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances the startup aims to nurture and relationships with strategic and technology partners. Prior to joining Bestmile, Ramis led several autonomous and human-driven mobility services at Volkswagen, which included the role of Head of Global Market Development and Partnerships at ridesharing pioneer MOIA and the initial set up of the mobility project of Electrify America, the largest electric charging infrastructure in North America. Ramis also worked as Chief Marketing Officer at Daimler’s Car2Go business. According to Raphael Gindrat, CEO and co-founder of Bestmile, “Alvaro has the vision and experience to ensure that Bestmile has the right partners and relationships.” Nexthink to conquer the US marketThrough its digital employee experience management platform, Nexthink allows enterprises to create highly productive digital workplaces for their employees by delivering optimal end-user experiences. The startup has appointed Bernd Leger as its new Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for overseeing its worldwide marketing organization. He will be based in Nexthink’s Boston office where he will primarily focus on building the US market. Leger has been helping fast-growing companies scale for more than 20 years: most recently he was the CMO at Checkermarx where he played a pivotal role in launching a unified software security platform. He also worked CloudLock, a cloud access security broker (CASB) Solutions Company that was acquired by Cisco in August 2016 after which he served as the head of product marketing and insights in Cisco’s Cloud Security Business Unit. Five of the organizations in which he held leadership positions, have been named “Best Places to Work” and were listed on the Inc. 5000 of fastest-growing companies.(Press release/ran)
