Tech and insurance entrepreneurs lead Emilian’s pre-seed investment round

Emilian, a Swiss-based SaaS InsurTech that offers a comprehensive white label solution to digitize insurance distribution, has completed the first financial round with an investment in the upper 6-digit figures. The round allows the start-up to strengthen the team and accelerate the onboarding of customers on the waiting list in Europe and Latin America.

Emilian’s vision is to offer the easiest and fastest software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to digitize insurance distribution. It helps small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly in emerging markets, to move into the no-code era of insurance distribution at low cost. Emilian provides plug and play web widgets that convert static websites or social media pages into full-fledged digital insurance agencies within minutes by connecting them to the Emilian platform. By partnering with Emilian, insurance product providers and brokers can boost their brand, enlarge their customer base, and increase engagement.

With its scalable business model, Emilian has already achieved initial success in the market after just a few months and serves customers in Switzerland and Colombia. Emilian currently has 12 employees, with four founders having started the company in February 2021. The founders bring over 60 years of experience from leading global companies in the insurance, tech and legal sectors.

“After a thorough due diligence of a few start-ups, there was no doubt that this team is using the right technology and is well set-up for success”, said Mr. Hincal, a successful tech entrepreneur who is familiar with the industry supplying Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices for telematics insurance products.

Thomas Rothenberger, CEO of ClavisRe based in Zürich, who also committed to a sizable investment, says: “Sitting in the advisory board for several months now, I witness impressive traction and the team’s ability to execute so that my investment decision was straightforward.”

“This fundraising round allows us to strengthen the team and accelerate the onboarding of customers on the waiting list in Europe and Latin America, says Zulma Prieto, co-founder and CEO of Emilian and she adds, “We are thrilled to have investors specialized in the tech and insurance industry who support our vision”.
