Switzerland Innovation Tour is designed to connect the world’s most innovative economy to the world’s fastest growing innovative economy by facilitating the exchange of intellectual capital in form of collaborations, startup exchange, and bi-directional startup investments.
The exchange between peer startup experts in Switzerland will be facilitated by swissnex India. Under the leadership of Prateek Khare, Head of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at swissnex India, a delegation from India comprising of representatives from various segments of the Indian innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem –such as Angel Investors, Seed and Early Stage Institutional Investors and venture capitalists, Accelerators, founders of incubators, Academicians, and like-minded individuals –will visit Switzerland for a week-long tour. They will visit three different cantons Zurich, Lausanne and Berne.
Through the tour, swissnex India aims to achieve certain outcomes such as the discovery of mutual strengths and possible exchange between India and Switzerland in the field of startup, startup investments and joint programs, institution to institution (incubator, accelerator, corporate innovation) connection, best practices sharing, canton-state level connect to offer pilot project to startups, strategic investments in Swiss startups by Indian Investors and academia-industry connect.
An intensive 3-day program
After their arrival on 22nd October the delegation will begin traveling around Switzerland their activities in Switzerland. On October 23rd, they will visit Zurich where they will meet with different players in the Swiss startup ecosystem including Investiere, Switzerland Global Enterprise, Kickstart Accelerator and selected startups in the Kickstart program.
This will be followed by the trip to Lausanne on October 24th where they will meet with members of Venture Kick and venturelab. During their visit in Lausanne, Swiss startups from around the region who are interested in meeting Indian investors will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas. Interested startups therefore invited to send a meeting request to prateek.khare@swissnexindia.org until Friday 6th October. The meeting will be held on the 24 October from 13:00 to 15:30 at EPFL Innovation Park. In the evening, the delegation will travel to Bern where they will attend the investors Dinner organised within the framework of the Swiss Startup Day.
Finally, on October 25th, they will hold meetings with the members of the ETH Tech Transfer followed by a tour of the ETH Zurich labs and the visit to EAWAG (Flisom), a Swiss startup developing an innovative thin film solar technology before traveling to Berne where they will meet with the team from Innosuisse as well as attend the Swiss Startup Day.
1:1 meetings with Swiss startups
Startups will also have the opportunity to meet and directly interact with them on October 25th during the Swiss startup Day in Berne. Interested Swiss startups can book individualslots of investors to meet them using the B2match tool of Swiss Startup Day. Booking is open until 22.10.2017.
