The 9th edition of the Swiss FinTech Awards celebrated outstanding Swiss startups and influential personalities yesterday in Zurich, awarding them prizes to recognise their innovation, dedication and impact on Switzerland’s financial landscape and beyond.
Since January this year, the competition’s committee and jury organised several rounds to evaluate over 100 applications and select the best contenders. Four made it to the finalists and two merged as winners in their respective categories; Early Stage Start-up of the Year and Growth Stage Start-up of the Year.
Neur.on AI wins CHF 36’000 in the category "Early Stage Start-up of the Year"
Neur.on AI emerged victorious in the "Early Stage Start-up of the Year" category. Founded in 2022, the startup offers an AI-based translation solution specialized for the financial industry, enabling more cost-effective and precise translations of any financial documents compared to existing market offerings. For banks, Neur.on' solutions help leverage existing linguistic resources and provide all employees with access to efficient legal and financial translation tools, increasing consistency, accuracy, and delivery speed. So far, over 50 million words have been translated through the platform and thanks to the company's commitment to confidentiality and data security, this solution is applicable in several sectors including, law firms, corporate departments, auditing and consulting companies. With their solution, the startup addresses a $10 billion market (USD) in financial and legal translations.
GenTwo wins "Growth Stage Start-up of the Year"
In the "Growth Stage Start-up of the Year" category, GenTwo took the prize. The Zurich-based startup expands the investment universe through the "assetization" of previously inaccessible, unbankable assets – driven by technology and innovations in securitization and tokenization. With their offerings, GenTwo has created financial products worth five billion US dollars for over 300 clients in 26 countries.
Fintech Influencer of the Year is Johannes Höhener
The award for the FinTech Influencer of the Year goes to a personality or organisations with a reputable track record in shaping the Swiss financial sector. This year, the jury nominated Johannes Höhener “Johs” for his decades-long positive impact on the fintech industry. Throughout his career, Höhener has influenced the Swiss FinTech community in various roles and companies, including establishing and leading Swisscom's fintech division, founding and developing the ecommerce competence center for cantonal banks e-research AG, and numerous advisory roles such as with Swiss Stablecoin AG and board positions like for example with daura AG.
