Support for Swiss startups

From winning proof of concepts to entering acceleration programs, Swiss startups have impressed juries in various startup competitions. Bottle+ is still contesting for a spot in the top 3, Duramon, IDUN Technologies, and Netguardians will collaborate with leading companies to enhance their solutions.

More than 42 companies applied for the sustainability program established by the Aargau Cantonal Bank and the School of Business at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. BottlePlus AG is one of the ten selected participants in the program, which offers tailored coaching and mentoring for 6 months. BottlePlus designed and developed Bottle+, a portable carbonation to provide users with sustainable sparking water on the go. Three top companies will get further support from the program. 

Duramon x Implenia innovation award
NDT-CE 2022, an International Symposium on Non-destructive Testing in Civil Engineering is the world-leading event in Structural Assessment and Diagnostics, organized by Swiss Association for Technical Inspections (SVTI). This year, for the first time, the “Innovation Special” was integrated into the conference to give startups that develop breakthrough solutions in the field of non-destructive testing and evaluation the chance to present their solutions to a distinguished panel of judges. Duramon won the Implenia Innovation Award which offers the implementation of a proof of concept in a real-life environment at an Implenia construction site. Duramon is an ETH Zürich spin-off that develops smart structural health corrosion monitoring solutions with the goal of building and maintaining smarter, more cost-effective, safer and more sustainable concrete structures.

IDUN enters the OPPO Accelerator
IDUN Technologies is one of ten startups selected for the OPPO Research Institute Innovation Accelerator. The startup is developing an innovative solution for in-ear EEG and sleep monitoring to explore how to scale quality sleep measurements in the consumer space. The startup will have the opportunity to collaborate with OPPO, one of the largest consumer electronics companies and brands, to bring neurotechnology into a wide market.

ONWARD Medical - Sino-Swiss Business Incubation competition award
The 2022 winner of the Sino-Swiss Business Incubation competition award (SSBI) is Onward Medical, which develops therapies to restore movement, independence and health in people with spinal cord injuries. SSBI is an international business development incubation program which facilitates and accelerates the China Market entry for innovative internationally oriented Swiss and Chinese startup and entrepreneur communities. The program offers a shared office space facility located at the SinoSwiss Technopark in China and Switzerland and provides participants with a strategic, value-adding intervention, mentoring funding, and matchmaking system. Onward will benefit from the SSBI support in establishing partnerships and determining market-entry strategies for China.

Netguardians selected for Deutsche Telekom Circle Partner Program
Award-winning Swiss FinTech NetGuardians, renowned for its enterprise risk platform for combatting financial crime, has won a new strategic partnership with Open Telekom for cloud hosting. This new partnership with Open Telekom Cloud, the public cloud by Deutsche Telekom, gives banks using NetGuardians software in Europe a choice when cloud hosting, supplementing existing providers. With the highest level of data protection and full GDPR compliance, Open Telekom Cloud offers a secure and resilient hosting service.
