Strategic changes to scale Exeon Analytics internationally

Zurich-based startup Exeon, a specialist in machine learning-powered network detection and response, has doubled its customer base in the past year, winning new accounts across Europe and doubling its revenues and personnel. To further expedite further growth opportunities, the company is pursuing a dual leadership with the company’s founder, David Gugelmann and the Chief Commercial Officer, Gregor Erismann, as Co-CEOs.

Exeon Analytics AG is a Swiss cyber tech company specializing in the protection of IT and OT networks through AI-driven security analytics. The Network Detection & Response (NDR) platform "ExeonTrace" allows companies to monitor corporate networks, immediately detect cyber threats and thus effectively protect their organization’s IT landscape - quickly, reliably and completely hardware-free. The self-learning algorithms for detecting anomalies in network activity were developed at ETH Zurich and are based on more than ten years of academic research.

The company’s customer base has continued to grow with renowned companies in the DACH region, such as PostFinance, SWISS Airlines, 3 Banken IT, WIN GD, and the logistics group Planzer using the solution. Last year was particularly exciting for Exeon as the company won more customers, doubling the figures. Among the acquired multiple accounts last year was one of the largest German banks, Partners of Swisscom and UMB, that use Exeon’s solutions. Moreover, the startup acquired its first customers in Lichtenstein and Luxembourg, a first step in strengthening its international presence. The current year and beyond will see the startup further spread its footprints. Thanks to this growing customer base, Exeon also doubled its revenues in 2023.

To pursue this growth ambition, the company’s Board of Directors has reshuffled its leadership team, dividing the CEO role between Exeon's founder, David Gugelmann and eir Chief Commercial Officer, Gregor Erismann. Alongside their new roles, the two leaders will continue to leverage their strengths to build the company further. David will continue to focus on advancing Exeon's cutting-edge Network Detection & Response framework. He will also provide consultancy to global clients on the architecture and implementation of ExeonTrace, further solidifying Exeon's position as a leader in detecting sophisticated cyber threats.

Since 2021, Gregor has been Exeon’s Chief Commercial Officer and the Co-CEO; he brings extensive experience in the international scale-up of businesses to drive Exeon's expansion strategy and enhance its market presence. Commenting on his appointment, Gregor says, "I am excited about the opportunity to co-lead Exeon during this dynamic phase of growth. Exeon's commitment to innovation and excellence in cybersecurity is unwavering and the very talented team behind Exeon a privilege to work with. I’m looking forward to our onward journey and continued success on the international stage."

The two co.CEOs will also lead the company’s current team of 40 people.
