Seed capital for Gilytics

Gilytics, the provider of software solutions for the planning of linear infrastructure, has banked CHF 1 million in a seed investment round co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds and Swiss Startup Group. The funds will flow into optimizing energy and transportation infrastructure projects.

Founded in 2017 by Stefano Grassi, Heather Pace Clark, and Philippe Bieri, Gilytics is an ETH spin-off offering intelligent Software for efficient Energy and Infrastructure planning. Its Pathfinder Software is a Geographic Information System (GIS) cloud platform used for overhead line and underground cable connections, identifying routes with the lowest cost or least overall impact on the public and the environment. The solution allows power grid operators to automate infrastructure routing, monitoring and management with big data and an algorithm, improving design, visualization, and communication.

Users can quickly analyse detailed scenarios in just a few clicks with realistic 2D, 3D and AR visualization. Greenfield and brownfield projects and linear infrastructure including powerlines, cable, pipe, rail, roads, renewables, telecom and offshore projects can be delivered faster using the software and related data services throughout the project process.

Gilytics has marked yet another milestone, after closing of its seed round, co-led by the High-Tech Gründerfonds and Swiss Startup Group. The Zürcher Kantonalbank and angel investors also participated. The funds will enable the startup to further develop features to support construction monitoring and operations for solar and wind projects among other use cases, while also expanding their distribution network.

Fabian Hogrebe, Investment Manager at #HTGF comments: “We are impressed by the team’s industry knowledge, the proven technology and the commercial traction already generated with industry-leading players in Switzerland and abroad.”

In line with the investment, Gilytics has welcomed Olivier Küng, Co-founder of Pix4D on its board of directors to support the management team in further developing the company. Gilytics also benefits from the support of the European Space Agency - ESA, Venture Kick and the CO3 Project | Horizon 2020 European Union programme.
