Sciencepreneurs wanted for Academia-Industry Training Camps in Brazil and India

The AIT program gives scientists the opportunity to push their research project closer to a real world application by connecting them to research, start-up and business communities in two untapped markets with high potential. It includes a 1-week acceleration and mentoring program in India, respectively Brazil. Applications are now open.

The AIT program supports scientists in transforming their high-level applied research into market application. By connecting scientists from top institutions in Switzerland and India/Brazil, the program promotes an international network and enables access to promising markets and intellectual capitals in applied research. The AIT program comprises a full day preparation kick-off event in Switzerland, a week in India, respectively Brazil, and then Switzerland, including workshops, industry visits and business meetings.

Selected researchers have the opportunity to access a wide network of high-level researchers in their field, as well as peers, mentors and industry experts and acquire tools and skills to analyze the application of their research. Participants will also develop a better understanding of the industry environment and establish connections and first partnerships in the untapped Indian/Brazilian markets.

The program is open to high-level and carefully selected researchers: Master, PhD, Postdocs and researchers of Swiss Universities, Universities of Applied Science and research institutes or centres of technological excellence with research track record working on a non-profit basis - seeking to explore the successful market application of their high-level applied research. Their high-level applied research project should have a potentially strong market impact in India or Brazil.

Former participants recommend the program: “The AIT camp gave me opportunities to crash test my ideas in the industry, useful mentoring and international networking”, says Dimitrios Terzis, MeduSoil. “ “Mandatory to apply for! Go ahead, work hard and have fun!”, adds Endre Horvath, Swoxid.

Applications for the program including camps in Brazil or India are now open. The program is free of charge. Deadline is 25 June. More information on the website of venturelab. Program partners of the AIT Camps are are swissnex India, swissnex Brazil, University of St. Gallen and Zurich Univerity of Applied Sciences.
