Myria Biosciences, a Basel-based startup at the forefront of AI-driven drug discovery, has recently joined the NVIDIA Inception Program, a significant milestone that will accelerate their efforts to revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry. The program helps startups evolve faster through cutting-edge technology, opportunities to connect with venture capitalists, and access to the latest technical resources from NVIDIA. Founded in 2021, Myria combines synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and high-throughput screening to enhance and expedite the drug discovery process. Their proprietary Genetically Engineered Modular Molecule Scaffolds (GEMMS) platform allows to Design and biologically produce therapeutic compounds and engineer cells to produce and test millions of novel molecules in a single week.
Qumea selected for Nordic Health Lab
Nordic Health Lab, a Danish Non Profit which is focused on advancing healthcare innovation in the Nordic region, has selected Swiss Startup Qumea to join the program. The digital health startup uses a 3D radar sensor to continuously monitor patient activity and mobility without the need for wearables or cameras. The system relies on to detect critical events such as bed exits, falls, and sudden restlessness, alerting caregivers in real-time through a user-friendly app. As part of the program, Qumea will benefit from the program's offer, which includes access to hospitals and municipalities.
EH Group enters AWS Clean Energy Accelerator 4.0 program
EH Group, which specializes in clean energy solutions, with a particular focus on fuel cell technology, have recently been selected to participate in the 3-month AWS Clean Energy Accelerator 4.0 program. Selected out of 800+ applications from 74 countries, the startup along with its peers in this batch will get access to resources and expertise to scale their clean energy solutions. As part of the program, the startup will be collaborating with AWS Piloting Partners to test and deploy its fuel cell technology in their operations. In addition, the company will get up to $100K AWS Activate Credits.
Two further cleantechs have also won prizes for their innovative ideas. Openversum has been selected the winner of the Lead2030 challenge by Reckitt in the category SDG6, winning USD 50’000, 12-month mentorship and a ticket to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024. The program was designed to support young entrepreneurs addressing pressing world issues in line with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The SDG6 challenge seeks to accelerate solutions enabling access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in communities around the world. The Zurich based startup combines technological innovation with local entrepreneurship, to equip local leaders, especially women, with the tools to distribute and maintain high-efficiency water filters. In Latin America and Africa, Openversum has provided access to clean water to over 500 individuals and trained more than 30 entrepreneurs, 80% of which are women.
Bcomp, a leading innovator in eco-friendly, high-performance composites for transportation and leisure industries, has received the 2024 Altair Enlighten Award, which honors the greatest sustainability and light weighting advancements that successfully reduce carbon footprint, mitigate water and energy consumption, and leverage material reuse and recycling efforts. Bcomp, in collaboration with BMW M GmbH received this award for their jointly developed BMW M Visionary Materials Seat, in the category Sustainable Process. The seat, which incorporates Bcomp's ampliTex™ bio-based materials, was recognized in the Sustainable Process category, underscoring its environmentally conscious design and production approach. The two companies have already delivered exciting innovations in previous development projects for high-end road cars and series application for race cars, such as interior and bodywork components for the BMW M4 GT4, bodywork for the BMW M4 DTM, and cooling shafts for the BMW iFE.20 in Formula E.
