New deals for growth stage startups

Collaborating with large organisations gives startups the opportunity to deploy their technologies and enable innovations. Mindmaze, Imburse, Energy Vault and dacadoo have signed strategic partnerships to help organisations enhance their offering in sports, payments, energy and insurance.

Mindmaze partners with Alfa Romeo F1 Team
Neurotechnology pioneer MindMaze has entered a new partnership with Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN to expand its continuing to advance its groundbreaking research using its MindDrive brain technology platform to bring together advanced neuroscience, state-of-the-art technology, and engineering to boost safety and human performance in motorsport. The collaboration will include holistic research assessing both car and driver. The brain technology platform will specifically monitor human performance by capturing brain data, both on and off the racetrack. The company today has a MindDrive-focused research project underway in the US with the Andretti Autosport Indycar team and its brain health ambassador, Romain Grosjean. Previous partners include F1’s McLaren and Haas teams.

Imburse provides Sapiens access to the global payments ecosystem
Based in Zurich Imburse is a cloud-based payment middleware that simplifies the way businesses worldwide access the global payments ecosystem. The company’s strategic partnership with Sapiens International Corporation, a leading global provider of software solutions for the insurance industry will enable Sapiens’ customers to easily connect with any payment provider or technology of their choice, for both collections and payouts.

The partnership provides numerous benefits, including complete payment coverage and accessibility for collections and payouts in any market, enablement of multi-tenant architecture, and cost reductions in integrating with payment providers and technologies. Sapiens’ customers are now able to benefit from Imburse’s middleware solution through their Sapiens tooling. 

Energy Vault and Jupiter collaborate on Battery storage projects in Texas and California
Jupiter Power (“Jupiter”), a leading battery energy storage developer and owner/operator of utility-scale battery energy storage projects in the United States, is relying on Lugano-based Energy Vault the startup that develops and deploys susainable energy storage solutions. As part of the deal, Energy Vault will supply equipment, engineering, procurement, construction, the balance of plant services and the energy management software for two of Jupiter’s battery energy storage projects: a 100 MW (200 MWh) battery energy storage system near Fort Stockton, Texas, and a 10 MW (20 MWh) system in Carpinteria, California.

Dacadoo and Hong Kong-based FWD group launch app
The pan-Asian life insurance company FWG Group from Hong Kong is collaborating with dacadoo to use the startup’s health scoring technology for omne, a new app designed to emphasize good living through tools that FWD says foster micro-habits and achieve daily goals. Dacadoo’s Digital Health Engagement Platforms (DHEP) and Health Risk Quantification solutions for Life and Health insurers. The DHEP connects insured members with their providers, enhancing customer engagement while, at the same time, helping them lead holistically healthier lifestyles. omne’s engagement features including dacadoo’s health scoring technology will change people’s views on insurance and how they interact with it going forward.

Wearonize launches passive Payment-Wearable for BLKB clients
The Luzern-based startup offers a mobile application with a digital wallet lets customers enable payment cards on their wearable, set and track budgets, monitor their spending, shop and more. The Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) on August 26-28 2022 in Pratteln will see visitors use a passive wearable payment solution launched by Wearonize in collaboration with the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB). In addition to their ESAF event, Wearonize has created a sustainable BLKB-ESAF wristband for the bank’s clients in selected BLKB branches.
