Loriot: From startup to scale-up


Five years after its launch, LORIOT announces a new management structure to further accelerate the growth of the company.


2020 marks the 5th year in which LORIOT has been successfully active in the IoT market. As of today, LORIOT has organically grown to 21 employees located at offices in Switzerland (HQ), Spain and Hungary. With several nationwide rollouts, and managing major LoRaWAN projects, LORIOT leads with a global presence in a healthy, expanding sector. Vit Prajzler and Julian Studer established LORIOT in 2015 at its current headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. In the last year, Vit Prajzler re-located to the USA to expand the US market for LORIOT. With a positive stay and family reasons, Vit Prajzer will now remain permanently to settle down in the USA. Beginning the 1st of February, Vit Prajzler, as President of the Board, will focus on his strategic role to support LORIOT and take it to the next level. Due to the operations team at LORIOT currently being based in Europe and the rapidly expanding European market remaining the primary target, the LORIOT board and management have agreed to consolidate the full c-level management in Europe and keep the technical team in Spain and Hungary. From the 1st of February 2020, the new management structure is as follows: New CEO: Julian Studer, former CFO/COO and Co-Founder of LORIOT New CTO: Gianni Zizzi, former Technical Lead in Spain New CSO/COO: Yannik Kopp, former Global Business Lead New CFO: Chiara Fezzardi, former Spain Team responsible and accountant for Spain With a new structure, the management board can lead operations more efficiently and ensure the ongoing delivery of services, customer satisfaction and further accelerate the growth of the company. LORIOT is now in a position to complete its transition from a rapidly growing startup to a consolidated, stable, healthy and scaling up global IoT company. LORIOT is a global IoT company providing long-range infrastructure for the Internet of Things. Due to a unique positioning in the LoRa ecosystem as both software provider and network operator, LORIOT is are able to provide a complete solution. The core product is a software for scalable, distributed, resilient and secure operation of LoRaWAN networks and end-to-end applications that reduces time to market for its clients. In addition, the company offers the network infrastructure to set up, operate and maintain a radio network, integrate sensors and communicate with them over a secure and reliable connection.
