Dominique Mégret, a technology entrepreneur and venture capital investor, has been appointed the new CEO of Agtech startup Ecorobotix. The Lausanne-based startup developed the ARA smart sprayer technology for crop treatment to reduce the use of crop protection products (by up to 95%) and CO2 emissions while boosting crop yields. Mégret, the founder and former head of Swisscom Ventures as well as co-founder and Ex CEO of Kick-Start Ventures, brings a wealth of startup and scale-up experience to guide the company through its upcoming phase of expansion. With Ecorobotix being one of 90 startups that secured investments from Swisscom Ventures, Mégret is familiar with the startup and even has a personal connection to the topic. “As someone from a farming family who grew up with the use of phytosanitary products, the discussion about reducing chemicals and their impacts on the environment and our health is close to my heart. I am firmly committed to helping find effective technical solutions to address this issue on a large scale”, he comments. His former leadership role at Swisscom Ventures will be handed over to Stefan Kuentz, Alexander Schläpfer and Pär Lange, as joint Managing Partners. Menhir Photonics introduces its new COO
Nicola Bellu, an experienced Operations Manager with previous leadership positions worldwide incl. Global Operations Site Leader at DANI Analitica or Senior Product Manager at Delta Mobrey Ltd, joins ultrafast laser manufacturer Menhir Photonics as new Chief Operating Officer. Menhir Photonics’ flagship product, MENHIR-1550 SERIES, is the first industrial-grade femtosecond laser and a stable mode-locked oscillator that produces clean sub-200 fs pulses centred at 1550 nm. It features very low phase noise and can be configured to operate at several repetition rates that reach the industrial quality required by customers. In this new role, Nicola Bellu will lead the startup’s transformational process, drive the organizational culture, vision, and structure. With this new leadership, the startup aims to optimize its industrial-grade lasers and to ensure high customer satisfaction.
MYNERVA newly filled their position of CTO
Zurich-based startup MYNERVA helps to reduce chronic pain and to restore the sense of touch in patients suffering from diabetic neuropathy. Luigi Carotenuto has joined MYNERVA’s leadership team as the technical lead and Chief Technical Officer. With more than 20 years of experience as product developer in the medical device field, e.g. in the roles of Technical Product Manager at ndd Medical Technologies or Senior Manager Systems Engineering at BrightInshight, Luigi Carotenuto is equipped with the right skill set to advance the technical development of MYNERVA’s innovative and non-invasive nerve stimulation solutions.
