Mental issues are increasingly affecting the corporate environments, and the current pandemic has exacerbated the issue, as reported by the World Health Organisation. With more cases of chronic stress and anxiety caused by the blurring lines between work and personal life, employee burnout has become one of the pressing management problems of 2021 that business leaders ought to acknowledge and address actively. Unfortunately, most corporate mental health and wellbeing services are ineffective at scale.
Incorporated in March 2021, Kyan Health is the first Swiss digital health company to provide end-to-end, fully personalized, evidence-based mental wellbeing and health solutions for employees and their families. The company's mission is to create a frictionless experience when accessing and engaging with mental health and wellbeing support services at work – from employee engagement and awareness creation over self-improvement and self-care to coaching and counselling.
The startup has now secured fresh capital in the pre-seed financing round, raising CHF 1.5 million. The investment will enable the startup to strengthen its network of certified therapists and coaches, modify its app, and scale self-care programs to cover anxiety, depression and other common workplace mental health challenges and build its skill-and coaching building offering.
"We launched Kyan Health after our own direct experiences with mental health challenges in the workplace and after witnessing the shortcomings of existing solutions and the devastating effects of poor mental health on individuals, families, and organizations," explains the founders. "With our successful pre-seed financing round, we reach another exciting milestone on our Kyan Health journey, and we could not be happier to welcome our new partners, including our lead-investor Wingman Ventures and our strategic angel investors."
