iSense raises funds to make flavor digitization a reality

Eight months following its incorporation, the iSense has attracted investors from across the world to invest in its seed round. The startup, specializing in sensory profiling of individual flovors, will use the funds to advance its services as it prepares for the first flavor launch in June.

The Zurich based iSense operates the first B2B digital flavor marketplace designed to connect Food and Beverage manufacturers with Flavor Houses, enabling them to source the right flavors and the right industrial recipes, immediately and based on data. The startup’s core is the sensory profiling of flavors to bring comparability, discrimination and sharper flavor choice. By digitalizing flavors, iSense introduces a data-based approach to flavor-collection management. The platform provides thousands of flavors and their digital profiles.  Recently, the startup closed the seed financing round with investors from Europe, Switzerland, Singapore and the US. The funds will flow into further development of the company’s analytical services and digital products. In line with the investment, iSense also revealed that it would launch the sensory profiling of strawberry favors in June followed by Vanilla. This summer also, the startup will release its iSense online flavor collection manager and flavor marketplace.         “With the new financial resources, iSense can now look confidently to the future. We will focus on delivering relevant and disruptive services while building success for our partners and customers”, said Mathieu Asté, Founder and CEO of iSense.(Press release/ran)
