Global Entrepreneurship Week is back in Switzerland

The Global Entrepreneurship Week has gained momentum in Switzerland. In 2016, Swissparks organises GEW Switzerland for the fifth time. The first event will start on 11 November.

During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

This year GEW Switzerland starts with a Startup Weekend in Bern which takes places from 11 to 13 November at the newly opened Impact Hub in Bern. Participants create working prototypes during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. The event is open to designers, developers and people with a non-technical background.

Another highlight of the week will be the Startup Day in Zurich with four experienced and succesfull start-up founders: Laurent Decrue (Movu), Sonja Dänzer (The Green Fairy), Seri Wada (Seri Backhandwerk) and Andreas Brändle, (Battere).

In Geneva there will be a whole series of events and training sessions under the title “libérez vos idées“. You will find information about this event series in Geneva on a special website. In Renens ECAL is organising again its "Semaine entrepreneuriale" from 14 to 19 November. More information on the website of the event series.

GEW has achieved nationwide reach with events all over the country. There will be events in Chur, Zurich, Grenchen, Lausanne, Thun, Schaffhausen, Geneva, Winterthur, Reinach BL and Brugg AG. Visit the website of GEW Switzerland to get an overview. More events may be added in the near future. Therefore you should also follow GEW Switzerland on Twitter.
