Besides shared e-scooters and bicycles, city dwellers also have micro-cars introduced by the Biel-based startup Enuu, which offers car-sharing services for LEV to promote sustainable mobility in cities. Unlike existing mobility sharing services, Enuus combine advantages of bikes and cars and provide protection during bad weather and room for luggage. Moreover, due to their size, the micro-cars can be driven on roads and bicycle lanes and can be parked on wide sidewalks and bicycle parking slots. The service is activated with a smartphone app. Last year, Enuu launched its mobility service in the city of Biel / Bienne where it has already attracted more than 1500 individuals. Since September the company has deployed a fleet of 20 Enuus in Zurich and plans to increase the number to 50 by the end of the year. Furthermore, the company’s next steps on the roadmap include deploying the service across Switzerland with upcoming launches in Geneva, Basel, Bern and Lugano. To accelerate the planned expansion, Enuu has now raised $1.4 million in its Pre-Series A round. Participants in the round include VAS Ventures, ACE Investment Partners and other investors. The startup had already closed the seed round of 300’000 from business angels, grants and loans. (Press release / RAN)
