The Climate-KIC accelerator programme has supported more than 1000 green startups – including, Insolight, Smart Home Technology, Daphne Technology, Embion Technology, KITRO, MeduSoil and Novamet – since 2010. The program consists of three distinct stages of six months each.
The first stage of the Accelerator is intended to help early-stage Startups refine and develop their specific USP and business model. Here the first prototype can be finalised and assistance is provided to obtain industry feedback. The second stage helps startups in developing a well-formulated business model to move them to the next phase: validation and customer acquisition. And finally, the third, which prepares businesses for a future of investment rounds and scaling. Additionally, startups in this stage are provided ample support as they prepare for negotiations with potential investors and partners and can tap into a huge network of investor contacts and partners.
Selected startups will be invited to participate in the accelerator program from 04/04/2018 until 30/09/2018. They will receive an overall equity free package worth up to €95.000 plus benefits including professional pitch training and business coaching, as well as location-specific support in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich or Vienna.
Eligible to apply are start-up teams with a technology or service with both commercial viability and climate impact. The company has to be less two years old for stage 1 and less than three years for stages 2 and 3. At least two co-founders must be committed to working full-time on the venture.
Registration for the accelerator program is now open and will close on 25 January 2018.
