CelsiusPro acquires London-based Disaster Risk Finance team

With the hiring of a world-class Disaster Risk Finance team from the WTW Climate and Resilience Hub, CelsiusPro has strengthened its Climate Resilience Solutions. The five professionals bring over 20 years of combined experience in DRF and adjacent disciplines, built through structuring and implementing some of the sector’s most innovative programs.

CelsiusPro Group has Insurtech platform integrates climate data and risk modelling to develop advanced solutions that enable insurance companies and brokers to distribute and manage tailored parametric insurance. Through our consulting services, we provide end-to-end insights on physical climate risk assessment, disaster risk finance, and structuring and risk modelling for insurance schemes. The company’s subsidiary, Global Parametrics, focuses on developing parametric risk transfer solutions that create a positive impact for vulnerable communities in countries prone to extreme weather and natural catastrophe risks. The company mobilizes risk capacity to underwrite parametric risk transfer through dedicated structures, which are backed by reinsurers with AA-ratings.

The recent acquisition of the London-based team, CelsiusPro has strengthened its Climate Resilience Solutions (CRS) with top-tier expertise in Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) for public sector, multilateral, humanitarian, and conservation organizations. The team is joining Global Parametrics, which itself became part of CelsiusPro Group in September 2023. The new team, formerly members of the WTW Climate and Resilience Hub, are now bringing their expertise in project management and consulting to CelsiusPro Group.

The new team consists of five professionals with more than 20 years of combined experience in disaster risk finance and adjacent disciplines, built upon project work on many of the most innovative and impactful programs in the sector.

The expanded CelsiusPro Group CRS team, which is based in London and Zurich, will be led by Kay Tuschen, Head of CRS since October 2023. “We created the CRS team with the objective to deliver cutting-edge parametric solutions to the benefit of climate-vulnerable communities in the Global South. With this expansion of the team, we bring in brilliant people with an amazing track record in this challenging market. I am thrilled by the prospects for our team”, he says.
