Call for digital solutions for smart cities

 

 

The first International Urban Innovation Hackathon gives startups the opportunity to network with politics and administration and to discuss business development topics on smart cities. Registration is now open.

 

 

The Impact sprints is looking for later-stage startups to join the first International Urban Innovation Hackathon. The teams bring solutions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Big Data & Machine Learning that facilitate a higher quality of life in smart cities.

The solutions should address five main areas; Living, smart buildings & infrastructure; Intelligent mobility; Sustainability & resource efficiency; New approaches to health care; and the future of work. Connecting global startups and government.

From 22-24 November 2018, participants will gather at Kraftwerk Zurich to further develop their solutions. A selection jury comprising of members from Zurich city, Zurich region and Swiss national level experts, VC, politicians, and entrepreneurs will select the finalists that will present their ideas to the audience comprising of politicians and with corporate companies as potential clients, as well as the media.

Following the two days hackathon, the organizing committee offers participants six weeks of access to its network comprising of decision-makers from the politics and government.

Eligible to participate are mid- to later-stage startups that have a working minimal viable product (MVP) and global clients. The startup must have a senior team, and at least three attend the event. The company must be less than five years old and has funding of a minimum of USD 5M.

Organized by the Urban Innovation Hackathon, the hackathon is supported by Swiss Life, Juliusbär, Monocle, Kraftwerk, Hackoutliers and the FDP political party.
