ETH Zurich spin-off South Pole and CO2logic are among the longest-standing climate action companies globally, both created around 15 years ago. The addition of CO2logic is aligned with South Pole's strategy to increase its global presence for its clients, with local expertise and know-how. CO2logic clients will gain access to South Pole's network of global services in a fast-moving sector, where international expertise is crucial. In return, South Pole clients will benefit from CO2logic experience in Belgium and France.
With combined resources, CO2logic and South Pole will ramp up their impact on international climate action, drive the demand for company Net Zero targets and CO2 neutrality labels, further develop innovative digital solutions for emissions management systems, including satellite monitoring of forests, and support a stronger international push for corporate action. Both companies also develop emission reduction projects on the ground and will work together to scale this up, as demand for high-quality emission reductions grows.
"To halt climate change we have to act right now. As more and more companies come on board for this quest, the combined expertise of South Pole and CO2logic will enable thousands of them to move towards net zero emissions. We see an increasing number of Belgium-based companies investing in climate strategies. In response, we are expanding and doubling down on our global leadership in this space," said Renat Heuberger, co-founder and CEO at South Pole.
For CO2logic, there will be no change at the management and operational level. Its mission will remain the same: to fight climate change and its socio-economic consequences through high-quality advisory services and climate project development. The company will continue to work with current stakeholders and clients.
