When CTI Invest started the Swiss Venture Days, there was hardly any other pitching event. The Swiss startup scene evolved dramatically in the last years and CTI Invest not only changed its name and structure and became Swiss Startup Invest. The organisation also improved its events. After extending the Swiss Startup Day successfully to a two day event Swiss Startup Invest has developed a new format for the Swiss Venture Days.
The Swiss Venture Day will last a whole day from now on with keynotes in the morning and pitches and one to one meetings in the afternoon. Selected start-ups will pitch to investors in three verticals:
- Biotech, Medtech, Micro/Nanotech, Cleantech
- ICT, Fintech, Services, Social Impact
- Accelerators (This vertical is reserved for start-ups that are or have been in any Accelerator program)
Up to ten start-ups will be selected for each vertical. The pitches will be only three to five minutes including Q&A. Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier, Managing Director Swiss Startup Invest explains: “Investors want to see more startups in less time. Normally an investor needs just a few minutes to decide if he/she wants to look deeper into the offering of a presenting startup.”
In 2017, there will be three Swiss Venture Days — reloaded —, one in Zurich, Lausanne and Ticino. The first Swiss Venture Day will take place in Zurich on 5 April 2017. Registration for investors starts on 17 February. Start-ups can already apply for all three verticals.
