A personal coach for everyone: VAY Sports launches its AI fitness app

VAY Sports, a spin-off startup from the University of Zurich, has launched the first digital fitness coach. The app uses artificial intelligence to motivate and correct the user in real time on the exercise execution.

«VAY Fitness Coach» by VAY Sports is now available in the market. Individuals that want to maximize the outcome of their work-out sessions without hiring physical personal trainer, now have the opportunity to train independently with the guidance of the first digital personal trainer. Behind the virtual coaches are professional personal trainers from Switzerland. The App utilizes computer vision and artificial intelligence to create a computer model of the user and then compares it to the optimal execution. Users will obtain instructions and instant feedback as they work out to make their sessions more efficient. The virtual fitness coach also provides tips for improvement and motivates the user. In addition, the app documents the user’s progress in a logbook with detailed statistics to enable users to monitor their performance proving a new experience for individuals that want to train independently. “The app gives users the ability to train with their favourite coaches where and when they want - without having to physically meet the coach,» said Caspar Leuzinger, CMO and co-founder of VAY Sports.  Keith Gunura, Startup Coach at the Swiss Startup Factory says: «VAY Sports provides the necessary motivation to exercise and stay fit at home. The knowledge of the professional coaches in tandem with their awesome posture tracking AI crammed in the app sets VAY Sports apart from the competition. That is an indispensable factor if you want to convince and persist as a startup.” VAY Sports is a former participant in the Accelerator Program of the Swiss Startup Factor.(Press release/ran)
