The Venture Briefing event series is designed to help students with an intent to pursue entrepreneurship take their first steps towards building a successful company.

The event features an experienced entrepreneur from your region:
Simon Breitler, COO and Co-Founder at Eracal Therapeutics, was born and raised in Switzerland where he studied chemistry at the ETH Zurich. Following the successful completion of his graduate studies at ETH, he moved to Harvard University as a Swiss National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow. In 2016, he started as a laboratory head in the preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (pCMC) at F. Hoffmann–La Roche, where together with his team he was responsible for synthetic optimizations and preclinical supplies of therapeutic oligonucleotides and small molecules. In 2019, he made the jump from large pharma to the entrepreneurial world and, together with Josua Jordi, co-founded EraCal Therapeutics, a spin-off of Harvard University and the University of Zurich, where he is currently leading the development of a next-generation anti-obesity drug.

He will talk about his startup and share details about his journey in building a successful company. Simon will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:

  • How to become an entrepreneur?
  • How to validate my idea?
  • How to fund my idea?
  • How to find help to bring my idea to life?

You will also be introduced to different support programs available to new entrepreneurs:

  • Venture Kick: up to 150K pre-seed capital for business development
  • InnoBooster: up to 150k grant to accelerate market entry
  • First Ventures: financial support and tailored coaching program for University of Applied Science students
