Digitalswitzerland invites individuals with ideas that have an impact on society, politics, business, culture and academics, and aim to achieve sustainable progress.


Together with Prof. Roland Siegwart from the ETHZ, digitalswitzerland is looking for visionary, colossal and crazy projects with high societal and economic value that have the potential to disrupt Switzerland and the world in a sustainable way!

We call them Matterhorn Projects. It is the ideal platform to make a visionary idea fly!

How does the idea search work?
Everyone can submit his or her idea(s) on digitalswitzerland's Open Challenge platform until June 22, 2018. Afterwards the submitted ideas will be evaluated and the best ideas selected until end of August 2018. The first goal is to announce the winning project(s) on stage at the Digital Day on the 25th of October 2018 in Zurich

What's the reward?
The winning projects will receive a cash prize of CHF 1'000 and VIP tickets to the Digital Day on 25 October 2018, in Zurich.

After this campaign, the team will reach out to stakeholders to support the winning project(s) and start a pilot. After a successful feasibility study, the projects should develop as a startup, a venture, an associations or other forms of organizations, financed and owned by all stockholders.

Anyone can participate and submit their idea(s) via OpenChallenge. Following registration, the applicant will receive a separate email from with the activation link. Whilst registering, applicants are required to describe their idea in a few sentences. The effort should be max. 10 min, depending on the complexity of the idea.
