Medicine has largely focused on studying the cause of illness in search of cures. Although we have made dramatic advances in identifying specific causes of illness in individual patients, we know remarkably little how individuals stay healthy. Cause of health research differs from classical medical and clinical research since it relies on data from healthy individuals. The conference will address the opportunities and challenges, which the ‘Cause of Health’ approach will offer from an ethical, research, commercial and healthcare viewpoint. There will be sessions on preventive, predictive, personalized, and participatory health, investor tracks, and 1:1 meetings. Speakers from academia, clinics and industry will present studies on the control of pathogens, nutrition, healthy ageing, public and digital health, healthcare and artificial intelligence and they will introduce novel therapies. Target audience Participants from academia, clinics, and pharma, biotech, medtech, digital health, and IT companies (research, business development, in-licensing), corporate funds and venture capitalists are expected to participate. Participation is free of charge. Registration is mandatory.
